Kent Reporter wins awards at state newspaper convention

The Kent Reporter received several awards at the Washington Newspapers Publishers Association convention.

The Kent Reporter received several awards at the Washington Newspapers Publishers Association convention.

Kent Reporter editor Mark Klaas and reporters Steve Hunter and Heidi Sanders each won awards at the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association 2016 Better Newspaper Contest.

The winners were announced at the 129th annual WNPA Convention on Oct. 14 in Wenatchee. Judges were from the New York Press Association.

The Kent Reporter competed against other newspapers in Group IV, a circulation of 12,751 and up.
