Kentlake High School diver Katie Beliveau and Kentridge High swimmer Haley Childress, both seniors, made it to the podium at the 4A girls state swim and dive meet last Saturday at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.

Beliveau placed fifth in the 1-meter dive event, and Childress took sixth in the 100-yard butterfly, the event she won at the West Central District III and the North Puget Sound League meets in October.

Childress was named Washington Interscholastic Activities Association’s 4A girls Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 7. She was nominated by a community member.

In recognition of their accomplishment, each Athlete of the Week winner receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director, Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week t-shirt, and a certificate. Winners are also posted to the WIAA website at wiaa.com

Kentridge’s relay team finished ninth in the 200 freestyle relay, 11th in the 200 medley relay, and 15th in the 400 freestyle relay. The Chargers finished 14th overall at the meet and Kentlake took 29th. Skyline High School won the event.

Kentridge took second place at the WCD meet and won the NPSL title and the NSPL Cascade division title.
