NBC’s Dateline will air a report Friday, May 9 about the 1996 killing of Sandi Johnson, of Kirkland, who at the time worked at a Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent.

The killing turned into a cold case until King County Sheriff’s Office arrested Clifford E. Reed in December 2012. Reed also worked at the dealership.

Reed received a prison sentence of 41 months in April. Reed in March pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter.

The program airs at 8 p.m.

Here’s the NBC summary of the report called “Vanished.”

“A vibrant young mother vanished from a Seattle suburb on the day of her son’s fifth birthday. With an estranged husband, boyfriend and co-worker all in the picture, authorities believed they had multiple suspects. Andrea Canning reports on a mystery that would take nearly two decades to solve.”
