No to Kent Proposition A

The commentary from Andrea Keikkala’s “Support Proposition A for a safer community” (March 2, Kent Reporter) suggests to levy an additional 2 percent tax increase on utilities on the April 24 ballot to pay for Kent Police.

The taxpayers of King County have recently been hit repeatedly with very large tax increases – ST3 property tax, school property tax increase, two Kent school levies, etc.

Recently, the King County Council sneakily passed Ordinance 18403, requiring the utilities to pay a “rent” to the county, which will increase our utility rates already.

When is enough, enough?
