Let’s all share in the costs

The Kent Reporter is doing an outstanding job in providing news that is pertinent to the community. Thank you.

I want to add my voice to Brent Benson’s letter (“Property tax unfair to homeowners,” May 18, Kent Reporter). Up until this year, I have always supported any levy that provided funds for schools and community safety. The continual increase of property taxes has made me unable to support these needs for the community.

There are many of us in the Kent community who are on fixed incomes, and the continual rise in property taxes has made a great impact. I wholeheartedly agree that all residents in our city should help share the costs.

I am hoping Mayor Dana Ralph can become a trendsetter to have the community expenses shared by all who live here.
