Kent voters will have numerous federal and state races to decide this year in the Aug. 2 primary and Nov. 8 general election.

The races in the Kent area included two for Congress as incumbents Adam Smith, D-District 9 and Kim Schrier, D-8, try to hold onto their seats.

For the state Legislature, District 47 includes a Senate race and two House races. Nobody challenged the three incumbents in District 33.

The two candidates with the most votes in the primary advance to the general election.
