Walk to support Pediatric Interim Care Center

Registration has started for the annual Walk for the Babies to help support Kent’s Pediatric Interim Care Center.
The 5K run, walk or stroll is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Kent Station. Day-of registration and T-shirt pick-up begins at 9 a.m. in front of Duke’s. The cost is $25 for adults, $15 for seniors (ages 65 and older) and students. The fee includes a T-shirt. Children 10 and younger can walk for free. Children’s T-shirts cost $10.

Starting flag for the walk will be at 10:30 a.m. The route will go past PICC on Fourth Avenue and then complete a loop on the Interurban Trail, ending back at Duke’s for a chowder feed and prizes.
Pediatric Interim Care Center, in downtown Kent, has given more than 3,000 drug-affected infants a safe and healthy start in life and become a national model for the specialized care of these vulnerable newborns.
