Republic Services has announced the rebate credit amounts for single-family customers in Kent due to a work stoppage by garbage truck drivers July 9-18.
“Credits will be provided per missed daily collection, based on the service portion of your rate and the level of service,” according to a Sept. 23 Republic Services service alert on its website. “Credits will appear on your next scheduled invoice.”
The credits per missed daily collection:
• One 13-gallon Micro-Cart $2.70
• One 20-gallon Mini-Cart $5.39
• One 32-gallon Garbage Cart $9.12
• One 45-gallon Garbage Cart $13.35
• One 64-gallon Garbage Cart $20.68
• One 96-gallon Garbage Cart $31.00
“Republic Services appreciates your patience and understanding and we look forward to continuing to serve you in partnership with the city of Kent,” according to the website post.
Kent Mayor Dana Ralph announced Sept. 19 that Republic Services customers in Kent will get a rebate for the missed service in July during a work stoppage by drivers to honor strikes in other cities across the nation.
“I’m happy to share some great news with you regarding rebates from Republic Services for the missed collections during the labor dispute in July,” Ralph said.
Ralph said the city and Republic Services negotiated rebates for missed collections. Some customers missed one collection while others missed two.
Residential customers are billed quarterly, and these rebates will appear on the fall bill, Ralph said. The rebate amount will be based on the number of missed collections for each customer.
