The Kent teachers’ strike escalated to a court hearing Sept. 3 at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.
King County Superior Court Judge Andrea Darvas issued a ruling in favor of the Kent School District, ordering teachers back to class next week. She issued her ruling after hearing from both sides of the issue: the attorney for the Kent School District Chuck Lind, the attorney for the Kent Education Association (the teachers’ union leading the strike) Jim Gasper.
