Kent high schools reschedule Saturday basketball games to avoid Seahawks conflict

Kent and other South Puget Sound League athletic departments have rescheduled this Saturday’s boys and girls basketball games to earlier times due to the Seahawks playoff game at 5:15 p.m. against the Carolina Panthers.

The games will be played during the day rather than in the evening as originally scheduled so they won’t conflict with the Seahawks game.

The new schedule:

Boys basketball: Jefferson at Kentridge, 2:30 p.m.; Kent-Meridian at Beamer, 2:45 p.m.; Mount Rainier at Kentlake, 3 p.m.; and Kentwood at Decatur, 3 p.m.

Girls basketball: Kent-Meridian at Beamer, 11:15 a.m.; and Kentridge at Jefferson, 2:30 p.m.
