Dee Dobbins puts the tree in the machine for recycling at Service Club Ballfields last Saturday. Local Boy Scout troops collected and recycled Christmas trees in neighborhoods around Kent for donations. The long-running program keeps the trees out of landfills and provides a stockpile of chips for use by Parks Operations to mulch new plants and maintain trails in the city parks system.
