Kent Chamber of Commerce sees Muckleshoot Tribe grant

The Kent Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday it received a $5,000 grant from the Muckleshoot Charity Fund. Provided by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, the Muckleshoot Charity Fund places a high priority in awarding grants to organizations throughout the region that are focused on public issues.

The Kent Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday it received a $5,000 grant from the Muckleshoot Charity Fund.

Provided by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, the Muckleshoot Charity Fund places a high priority in awarding grants to organizations throughout the region that are focused on public issues.

The fund donates more than $800,000 in grants each year. The Kent Chamber of Commerce will use the grant to continue funding the work of its Education Committee.

The recent works of the committee include: Partnership with the Kent School District in bring the Robotics FIRST program to fruition in the district, Technology Expo partnership, Business and Education Striving for the Top program partnership, Hire Me First program, welcome reception for Kent Schools Superintendent Edward Lee Vargas, hosting the upcoming 2010 State of the Schools luncheon, and teen Internships and resume and interview skills experiences.
