The ninth annual Hops & Crops Music and Beer Festival – featuring cold brews and cool tunes – rocks Mary Olson Farm on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Listen to live music and sample some of the region’s best beverages on the 67-acre, 1879 family subsistence farm at 28728 Green River Road, Kent.
The festival, which runs from noon to 6 p.m., is for those age 21 and over and features more than 30 craft brews and ciders from local breweries. Live music performances showcase the diverse Northwest music scene, including the sounds of roots, Indie, Americana, soul and funk bands.
More than 900 guests are expected, and many visitors bring along camp chairs and blankets so they can sit back and enjoy the music. Leashed dogs are welcome. Free tours of the historic farmhouse, and an educational “Hops Craze” exhibit are on display.
Classic lawn games and a “Festival Donkey” photo op round out the offerings.
All proceeds from the event support educational programming at the Mary Olson Farm.
The Auburn Downtown Association is sponsoring the event.

• About the place: The Mary Olson Farm is a King County Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The farm operates as a living history and environmental learning site, and is owned by the City of Auburn and managed by the White River Valley Museum.
