Pop music sensations The Beach Boys take the Washington State Fair Grandstand Stage on Thursday, Sept. 14.
The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut more than 50 years ago.
Captained by Mike Love, The Beach Boys continue to play a busy schedule of concerts, averaging 150 shows a year, ranging from sun-drenched summer festivals to gala New Year’s celebrations and special events worldwide. In 1974, Love’s concept album Endless Summer ignited a second generation of Beach Boys fans and stirred a tempest that rocked the music world.
Joining The Beach Boys in 1965, Grammy-winning songwriter Bruce Johnston, (Barry Manilow’s “I Write the Songs”]), replaced Glen Campbell when he retired from touring. Glen was filling in for Brian Wilson, on vocals/bass. Highly regarded as a singer-songwriter, Johnston’s vocal work with such legendary artists as Elton John and Pink Floyd firmly established him among rock’s elite artists.
Had this remarkable band been less committed to its art and its fans, it could have retired from the field with honor at dozens of points along the way, confident that it had made a lasting contribution to world culture.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8. Tickets are $55, $45 and $30 and include fair gate admission. Tickets will be available on the fair website or by phone at 888-559-FAIR (3247) daily, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the state fair’s box office at 9th Avenue Southwest and Meridian Street on Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Online and phone purchases are subject to standard processing fees. Tickets purchased on site will be charged a $2 per ticket service fee.
