You have one more chance to enjoy a free evening of music at the “Thursdays at the Lake” concert series in Kent as the John Jorgenson Quintet plays from 7-8:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at Lake Meridian Park, 14800 S.E. 272nd St.
The quintet plays what is known as “American gypsy jazz.” Jorgenson, a guitarist, is the founding member of the Desert Rose Band, the Hellecasters, and six-year member of Elton John’s band. Artists ranging from Barbara Streisand to Bonnie Raitt to Earl Scruggs have sought out Jorgenson’s guitar work.
The concert concludes the summer series presented by the city of Kent.
