The Federal Way-based Pacific Islander Community Association of Washington will host a Pacific Islanders Elders Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 at Trinity Community Church, 3807 Reith Road, in Kent.
The free, all-inclusive event will focus on uplifting and honoring Pacific Islander Community elders with a day full of fun, dancing, games and access to information, resources and goods from local organizations and food/handicraft vendors.
Partners in putting on the event include Kent-based UTOPIA Washington, Tacoma-based Asian Pacific Cultural Center, Mana Mooui, Fijian Women’s Association, First Chuukese WA Women’s Association, Pacific Islander Health Board of Washington and Neighborhood Housing.
