Valley Medical Center’s Lifestyle Medicine clinics offer personalized wellness plans for long-term success

The Lifestyle365 wellness program at Valley Medical Center is changing lives by focusing on holistic health improvements.

Available at Valley Medical Center’s Lifestyle Medicine clinics in Renton, Covington, and Maple Valley, the program tailors fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness plans to individual needs, aiming to reduce chronic disease risks and improve quality of life.

“We are creating a safe space that takes away any ‘gymtimidation’ and gives our community the chance to make real long lasting change,” explains Ashan Korala, manager of medical wellness services.

“This program looks at your entire lifestyle – fitness, nutrition, sleep, hydration, and more. It’s about building healthy habits and empowering people to maintain those changes long-term.”

The program is divided into two main phases: In Strive (Months 1 to 4), participants work closely with an exercise specialist to track vitals, monitor progress, and make adjustments. In Thrive (from Month 5 onward), the focus shifts to maintaining those healthy habits independently, with ongoing support available to ensure participants stay on track.

Many program participants have experienced life-changing results. Betsy, for instance, shared her new perspective on health: “The Lifestyle365 Program really works, and I am proof of that! Not only does my coach guide me by creating gym workouts tailored just for me, but (he) checks in on me to make sure that my emotional and mental well-being are addressed as well.”

Similarly, Ruth has seen significant improvements in her physical health. “I joined Lifestyle365 six months ago. I have lost (weight) and still am losing. This program is changing my life.”

“My bad cholesterol is going down, my blood pressure is under control, I rest better at night. I have been telling everyone I know to come and join the program.”

Kati, who joined after completing cardiac rehab, appreciated the program’s medically guided approach. “When I had a setback, Lifestyle365 connected with my doctor to adjust my plan. I plan on keeping it going with them by my side.”

Beyond fitness, the program also focuses on improving daily lifestyle habits, including better sleep and nutrition. “The program is designed to fit into the member’s life and become a part of their lifestyle. We focus on making small steps of change to create a healthy lifestyle that works for our members,” Korala explains.

Accessible to those 18 and older, the program can be tailored for individuals with various fitness levels, including those recovering from illness. Carrie, another participant, shared how she overcame her initial reservations about starting the program. “I was nervous to start, but I was pleasantly surprised and found the Lifestyle365 team supportive and readily available. The machines are easy to use and the follow ups to see my progress are so impactful.”

“As an exercise professional I’m proud to be delivering a program to the community that is making real positive changes, and putting life back into the years of our members,” Korala adds.
