Local shoe store owner knows his business – like riding a bike!

You’ll find Wide Shoes Only at these Renton and Edmonds shoe shops

When Dominic Ahn took over the his parents’ two specialty shoe stores, running the family business was second nature.

“My parents had been in the shoe business since the ’70s, so I had always been around it,” Ahn says. “In fact, I put myself through college working in shoe sales. When I returned from working in the high tech industry in California to come on board in 2002, it was like riding a bike.”

With locations in Edmonds and Renton, Wide Shoes Only specializes in outfitting people with wider feet, offering a varied selection of men’s and women’s models of boots, athletic, work and dress wide-soled shoes.

They also have highly trained fitters, ready to help you determine just the right shoe for your needs.

“My parents first started out with a shoe repair shop in Pike Place, and they kept having people come in with medium shoes to have them stretched,” Ahn says. “They saw that there weren’t any stores carrying extra-wide shoes, and so to meet that need, they opened their first specialty store in Shoreline in 1980.”

Wide Shoes Only offers a wide selection of shoes for men and women with wider feet, and friendly expert staff to help you get just the right fit.

Wide Shoes Only offers fun, fashionable shoes from top-of-the-line brands and their staff are committed to friendly customer service and finding the perfect pair of wide shoes for your comfort and satisfaction.

“What a great store!” said one reviewer. “Huge selection and the owner really knows about wide shoes. It’s a family business and has been there for over 40 years. One tip: wear a pair of worn shoes when you go in because the wear patterns will tell him what you need. And there are lots of good-looking shoes! Not just clunky orthopedic things that your grandmother wouldn’t wear.”

Unsure about your shoe width? The best way to find out is to go into the store and get your feet measured by their professional fitters so they can personalize the fit and shoes that are right for you. Since each customer is special and unique they strive to make sure the shoes you find give you the best support and maximum comfort.

“There’s no standardization or uniformity as far as width sizing,” Ahn says. “This makes it really hard to buy wide shoes online – you really need to come in and try them on.”

Ahn’s advice for those thinking about buying shoes for fall and winter? “With the current supply chain issues I would suggest coming in right away to take a look and pre-order.”
