For the Reporter

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed 25 years ago. During October, Highline College will mark the anniversary during Disability Awareness Month with free events centered on the theme, Moving Beyond Inclusion.

Moving Beyond Inclusion asks the public to consider how it can help create a future where all doors are open to equal opportunity, full participation and integration. Through events and presentations, participants can explore how people can all enforce the ADA and how the act has affected them or someone they know.

Community members are invited to campus to join in the discussion: Can we move beyond inclusion?

All events are free and open to the public and will be held on the college’s main campus, midway between Seattle and Tacoma at South 240th Street and Pacific Highway South (Highway 99); address: 2400 S. 240th St., Des Moines.
