Fire broke out early Monday morning, July 3; cause under investigation

A Kent house fire displaced a family of five early Monday morning, July 3 in the 13300 block of SE 273rd St.

“The smoke alarm woke up the father and he was able to get his family safely out of the house,” said Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak in a July 3 email.

Firefighters were dispatched at 2:32 a.m., Pawlak said. It took about 50 minutes to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Eight units with 21 fire department personnel responded, Pawlak said. King County Medic One, Zone 3 Fire Cadets and Kent Police also responded to the fire.
