Kent Police make nine DUI arrests in first two weeks of December

Officers bust drivers from Kent and five other cities

Kent Police made nine DUI arrests in the first two weeks of December.

The following arrests were made, according to a Dec. 17 news release:

• 45-year-old Bellevue man who collided with another vehicle

• 25-year-old Auburn man found in a park, slumped over the steering wheel of his running car, with his foot on the break

• 40-year-old Kent man who crashed into a tree

• 52-year-old Kent man who hit another vehicle

• 52-year-old Kent man who hit a pole

• 47-year-old Renton man who misjudged the on-ramp and crashed his car

• 30-year-old Olympia woman who hit another vehicle

• 30-year-old Auburn man slumped over from drug usage inside a running vehicle

• 24-year-old Federal Way woman who was swerving all over the road and was stopped by an officer prior to hitting something

“Not awesome stuff to report, but there is good news for our community on the DUI front,” according to police.

These offenders and others can get help and stop the behavior through DUI Court at the city’s Kent Municipal Court. The program connects offenders with substance and mental health resources, while holding them accountable for their actions, according to police.

The program focuses on recovery through an intensive therapeutic court treatment program that has solid supervision. Participants connect with the treatment and resources they need so they can be healthy, thriving members of the community.
