Kent Police are asking for the public’s help to find the driver and SUV that reportedly hit a teen pedestrian Dec. 2, 2025 in Kent and then fled the scene.

Despite investigative efforts, the vehicle and driver have not been identified, according to a Jan. 20 Kent Police Facebook post.

Between 6:50 and 6:55 a.m. Dec. 2, a 15-year-old male pedestrian was hit by a car while crossing the street in the 11400 block of SE 232nd St., according to police.

The pedestrian was crossing from north to south outside of the crosswalk when he was struck and knocked to the ground, according to police. He was a bit east of Park Orchard Elementary School and walking towards his school bus pickup spot.

The suspect vehicle stopped, and the driver offered the teen a ride to school but sped off after the boy asked for an ambulance, according to police. The teen was unable to get a vehicle license plate but thought it started with the letters CO. The identity of the driver is unknown.

The boy continued to school and was later transported to a local hospital for his injuries where his family contacted the police to make a report. He was treated for injuries to his wrist that later required surgery to resolve, according to police.

The teen described the suspect vehicle as a dark gray Toyota SUV, according to police. He described the driver as a Black female in her 50s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, stocky build and wearing a Hijab or similar head covering. He said that she spoke English with an accent.
