Kent and Renton police are asking the public to help identify a pair of burglars allegedly associated with several recent home break-ins in the two cities.

The two were caught on home surveillance video while reportedly breaking into two different homes, one in Kent and another Renton, according to a Jume 18 Kent Police media release. While no one was hurt in either incident, both victims reported damage to their homes and property loss as a result of the crimes.

Law enforcement officials from Kent and Renton have been working to resolve a string of home burglaries plaguing local neighborhoods since early this year. Most of the break-ins have occurred between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Police believe the thieves are capitalizing on residents being away at work when the burglaries are occurring.

While police have deployed plain-clothes officers to assist uniformed patrols, the officers also want the public’s help.

“We believe that someone will recognize this pair,” said Kent Police Lt. Pat Lowery. “If seen, we are asking that the public not try to detain either person but call 911 immediately.”
