Kent School District sets hiring event for bus drivers, paraeducators

Wednesday, Nov. 16 at River Ridge Elementary School

The Kent School District will have a hiring event in an effort to bring on more bus drivers and paraeducators.

The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 at River Ridge Elementary School, 22420 Military Road S., in SeaTac.

Pay for bus drivers ranges between $26.81 and $31.68 per hour. A $1,500 training completion incentive will be paid at the time of hire, according to the district.

Driver applicants must have an excellent driving record and enjoy working with children. Training will be provided for a Class B/CDL.

The district also plans to hire part-time paraeducators, who work with classroom teachers. There are opening at multiple schools, according to the district. Pay ranges from about $21 to $26 per hour, according to job postings on the district website.

If you have an associate’s degree, 72 hours of college credit or take and pass the Para Pro Test, you are qualified.

The Kent School District covers over 70 square miles of South King County including the cities of Kent, Covington, and portions of Auburn, Black Diamond, Maple Valley, Renton and SeaTac.
