Man found fatally shot inside still running vehicle in Kent

Located in the 23200 block of 88th Avenue South

A man was found fatally shot inside his still running vehicle late Thursday night in the 23200 block of 88th Avenue South near a Kent apartment complex.

Officers responded at about 11:50 p.m. Jan.7 to a report of an illegal discharge, according to Kent Police. Officers located a vehicle parked off the roadway in some landscaping with the engine still running. The man had fatal gunshot wounds.

Detectives are working to identify the man and the circumstances that led to the shooting. As of Friday morning, police did not have an age or hometown for the man, Cmdr. Robert Hollis said in an email.

Detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have any information to call the police tip line at 253-856-5808 and reference case number 21-303.
