Authorities have recovered a vehicle involved in a shooting at a Kent East Hill shopping center Wednesday night that left a 23-year-old Kent man dead.

The vehicle – a late-1980s-to-early-’90s Toyota Corolla – was found in Renton on Thursday, but authorities said the involved suspects remain at large.

No additional details were released by Kent Police as the investigation continues.

As of Friday, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office had not yet released the name of the 23-year-old victim.

The driver of the recovered vehicle is believed to have fired shots at the victim before immediately fleeing the scene – outside the Target store at 26301 104th Ave. SE – Kent Police said.

A dispute may have led to the deadly shooting in the store’s parking lot, police said.

The victim was found shot and unresponsive inside his vehicle. CPR was initiated, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to witnesses, several shots were fired in the parking lot around 7 p.m.

Witnesses said there were two suspects inside the fleeing vehicle.

If anyone has information about the shooting, they are asked to call the Kent Police Department at 253-852-2121.
