King County prosecutors have charged an Auburn man in a May Seattle murder case.
Prosecutors filed three felony charges on June 12 against 18-year-old Caution M. Anderson of Auburn — including murder in the second degree, unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree, and theft of a motor vehicle — in a case involving the shooting death of a 29-year-old man.
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Javonte W. Isadore-Danning, 29, died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds on May 25 sustained outdoors on Occidental Avenue and Yesler Way in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood. The medical examiner’s office identified Isadore-Danning’s death as a homicide.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, the Seattle Fire Department declared Isadore-Danning as deceased at the scene of the shooting.
Anderson, with his birthday on June 15, was 17 years old at the time of Isadore-Danning’s death. Prosecutors have charged Anderson as an adult.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, both the Seattle Police Department and Seattle Fire Department responded on Saturday, May 25, at approximately 11:17 p.m. to the intersection of Yesler Way and Occidental Avenue South for a report of a man shot in a parking structure.
Seattle police officers arrived and found Isadore-Danning unresponsive, lying in the middle of the parking lot driveway having sustained multiple gunshot wounds with his wife next to him, trying to render aid. Seattle Fire Department personnel declared Isadore-Danning as deceased following aid from both police and the fire department.
An autopsy of Danning recovered several fired projectiles located in his body.
Through an investigation of the shooting involving witnesses and involved parties, law enforcement identified Anderson as a suspect in the shooting, with witnesses and parties stating Anderson shot Isadore-Danning following an argument between Isadore-Danning’s wife and Anderson’s girlfriend, with one witness stating the shooting occurred over “baby momma drama.”
Isadore-Danning’s wife stated Anderson shot Danning after Danning stepped out of his vehicle to stop a woman from throwing items at the vehicle following a verbal altercation.
An involved party related to Anderson stated Anderson drove away with his vehicle, stating, “I’m not going to jail again,” after the party informed Anderson he planned to call the police.
According to the Seattle Police Department, detectives from the department’s homicide unit and the U.S. Marshals Service task force arrested Anderson on June 11, booking him into the Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center, King County’s youth detention facility in Seattle, for investigation of murder.
Prosecutors argued for the court to hold Anderson on $2 million bail.
According to court documents, on the date Anderson allegedly killed Danning, Anderson was on active probation in both Pierce County and King County for juvenile felony convictions.
The court scheduled Anderson’s arraignment for June 26 at the King County Courthouse in Seattle.
