Jean Elizabeth Millan passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 26 at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, WA. The oldest of 3 sisters, Jean was born in Scranton, PA to Joseph and Margaret Skibinski. Jean attended college at Scranton Technical College where she studied journalism. After college she worked as a union representative. She met her husband, Harry Millan, on a tour bus trip in the Rocky Mountains in 1980. The couple married in 1983 and moved to Kent, WA. Jean raised three sons, Michael, John, and Harry Jr.
Jean loved being a homemaker and her sons were her greatest joy. She also enjoyed photography, needle work, art, jewelry making, traveling, and baking. Most of all she enjoyed Mount Rainier and camping up and down the west coast. Jean never said “no” to a trip. Jean loved people and made friends wherever she went. She had friends of all ages and walks of life. Jean was an incredible cook and enjoyed being a hostess, always making people feel welcome in her home. She loved lifting up others when they were down. Jean could light up a room just by walking into it.
Jean loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, 3 sons, and 5 grandchildren.
Jean will be laid to rest on Friday May 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Tahoma National Cemetery. All who loved her are welcome to attend.
The family wishes to thank all those who knew Jean and shared in her life. She left a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.
