She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and many lifelong friends and honorary grandchildren.Born in Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada) she moved to Carrington, North Dakota with her parents, Clara (Steele) and Jesse Jones and her five brothers Art, Homer, Cecil, Bob and Norman when she was seven years old. In her long life she was a former beauty operator and instructor, manager for Rainier Fuel, and homemaker. She loved her volunteer work with the March of Dimes and later working as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society “Discovery” Shop. She spent the years raising children as Room mother, Scout Leader, and other duties as assigned to mothers. After her children left the family nest and she became a widow, she discovered the Kent Senior Center and traveled extensively world wide. She then was affectionately called the “No Commitment Grandma” as the travel bug became a virus. She started to slow down some around the young age of 90 and began spending more time visiting with her children. Her sense of humor and love of people was very infectious all the way to the end. She will he missed by all who came into her life.Memorial Services will be held at her church, First Baptist 11420 S.E. 248th Street, Kent, WA on June 20, 2009 at 2 p.m.
