Ronald D. Richards
Ronald D. Richards, 74, of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully at home February 24, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born June 29,1939 in Salt Lake City, UT to Mable and Ronald Richards. After graduating from West High School in Salt Lake City, Ron served 4 years in the United States Air Force. For over 30 years Ron was an HVAC Contractor in the
Seattle area and later was the co-owner of two businesses. He retired in 2000, and he and his wife Judy moved to Las Vegas in 2004 where he enjoyed the warm weather, spending time with family and friends, golf and “a little gambling”. Even after leaving Seattle, he was a dedicated Seahawks fan and witnessing his beloved Hawks win the Super Bowl was a “best moment”. Ron loved life, family, and friends, which often came in the form of pool/card party host. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and three grand nieces; he was so proud of each of them and their accomplishments. Ron will live forever in our memories and hearts.
Ron is survived by his wife Judy of 37 years; daughter Rhonda Angevine (Dan), Covington, WA; son Steven (Margo), North Platte, NE; son Scott, Covington, WA; three grandsons, Joseph, Luke and Timothy Angevine and two step grandchildren, Emily and Austin Shelly. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Wesley, and daughter Shana Marie.
He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Burial Park, 1005 Reiten Road, Kent, WA. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on May 18, 2:00 p.m. at the Alki Bakery Cafe, 20809 72nd Ave. So., Kent, WA.
