Russell Eugene Stringham, Jr, of Kent, Washington passed away on October 17, 2016.
Russ, as he was known to his friends and associates, was an active member in the numismatic community, where he became known specifically for his work in establishing interest in the Accented Hair variety of the proof 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar.
Russ’s business, Resco, operated from the same location in Kent, Washington, for more than 25 years. From his interest in computers and technology, Russ became an early user of the internet, beginning with an online presence in 1996. Combining his experience with technology and his knowledge in the collectibles field, Russ became a well-known online retailer for coins and other collectibles. Despite being a one-man operation, Resco successfully completed more than 11,000 sales in over 16 years as an eBay top rated seller with 100% customer satisfaction.
Friends remember Russ for his acerbic wit, his willingness to offer advice to less experienced collectors, and for the straight-forward, honest approach he took to business and to life.
