The Seattle Thunderbirds will put single game tickets to the eight games the team will play at KeyArena this season on sale starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Prab Rai knows exactly what he wants in a home away from home. And the Seattle Thunderbirds are in the final stages of securing just such a home – several of them, actually – as they continue gradually moving into their new hometown of Kent.
The Seattle Thunderbirds will drop their first puck in Kent no later than Jan. 3 – and could do it as early as Dec. 27 – as the team released its Western Hockey League schedule last Friday.
The Seattle Thunderbirds are doing more than just opening their door in Kent.
They’re opening it as loudly as possible.
“We have lots of stuff going on. We’re want to jump into Kent with both feet,” said Ian Henry, the director of public and media relations for the Western Hockey League team that will take up residence in the new Kent Events Center this winter. “We want to be here, we want to jump in and let people know we’re coming to town.”
After starting their second-round playoff series with a bang, the Seattle Thunderbirds ended with a thud.

After taking third and fourth respectively at the last two Class 4A state volleyball tournaments, Kentwood High had big designs on going even further this past weekend at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.
The Conquerors didn't quite surpass their last two state performances, but certainly came home with plenty to be proud of.
The opportunities were there for the Kentwood High girls soccer team Wednesday night.
The goals were not.
The Kentwood High football team had all the answers for seven straight weeks.
Those answers became questions on Saturday night at Issaquah High in the opening round of the Class 4A state playoffs.
And the biggest question of all quickly became how to stop — or at least slow down — Issaquah running back Grant Gellatly.
