Josh Kim, a Kent Mountain View Academy senior, was one of the winners of the second NASA Lunar Art Contest that received entries from high school and college students from around the globe. Kim was the winner of the high school two-dimensional art division with his painting, “The World’s First Civilization On The Moon.”

The Lunar Art Contest, sponsored by NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., allows students from the creative arts disciplines to become involved with the nation’s space exploration program.

Students who won the overall and first place awards in each category will be recognized as part of a celebration at the National Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC that marks the 40th anniversary of the first Apollo landing.
