Protesters from the Seattle-based Northwest Animal Rights Network plan to demonstrate along West James Street outside the ShoWare Center in Kent during the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey circus.

The group, which opposes how animals are treated by the circus and used for entertainment, plans protests before every show Sept. 1-5.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, also known as PETA, staged a similar protest when the Ringling Bros. came to Kent two years ago.
