Kent recycling event handles nearly 60 tons of material

Drivers of 1,104 vehicles dropped off items at the city of Kent recycling event Oct. 15 at Russell Road Park.

Crews recycled nearly 60 tons of material. A total of 10,175 pounds of confidential documents were shredded at the event.

Residents could drop off appliances, tires, up to three file-size boxes of confidential material to shred, mattresses, Styrofoam and other items.
