Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision at about 10:18 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 5 northbound at Southcenter that blocked four left lanes of traffic.

A 32-year-old Seattle man entered northbound I-5 from Southcenter Boulevard when his 1997 Acura experienced a flat tire, according to a Washington State Patrol media release. The vehicle then crossed all lanes of traffic to the left and collided with the driver’s side door of a 2010 Ford van driven by a 27-year-old Seattle man.

Paramedics transported both of the drivers with undisclosed injuries to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Two passengers in the van, a 27-year-old Des Moines woman and a 2-year-old Des Moines girl were not injured.

The accident backed up traffic for about 3 miles, according to the state Department of Transportation.
