Regional Animal Services, Pasado’s Safe Haven, and Community Cat Coalition team up to offer no-cost spaying and neutering on Thursday, Oct. 16.

In honor of National Feral Cat Day, Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is joining forces with Pasado’s Safe Haven and Community Cat Coalition to offer free spay and neuter surgeries for domestic and feral cats. Vaccines and flea treatments will also be offered at no cost for cats undergoing surgery that day.

“Kittens as young as four months old can get pregnant,” said Dr. Gene Mueller, manager of Regional Animal Services. “In just a few years, one mating pair of cats can produce more than a dozen litters, and hundreds of descendants.”

To take advantage of this special offer, cat owners must first register at www.pasadosafehaven.org/spay_neuter. Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once registered, cats will need to be dropped off at the King County Pet Adoption Center, 21615 64th Ave. S., Kent, at 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 16. Owners will be able to pick up their pets in the afternoon.
