The Seattle Thunderbirds have acquired defenseman Scott Allan from the Medicine Hat Tigers for a fifth-round selection in the 2016 Bantam Draft, general manager Russ Farwell announced today.

“We are down to five defensemen heading into a very busy time in our schedule,” Farwell said. “We feel there is huge potential with Scott and look forward to adding him to our team.”

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Allan, from Thornton, Colo., has played in three games with the Tigers this season and has not registered a point. In his rookie season last year Allan played in 34 games and had no points with 24 penalty minutes.

The T-Birds host the Spokane Chiefs on the first Directors Mortgage 2-for-Tuesday of the season at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at the ShoWare Center. They travel to Spokane to play the Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
