A Kent Fire Department RFA investigator is working to determine the cause of a house fire in the 25100 block of 142 Avenue Southeast on Sunday morning.
Firefighters, who were dispatched to the fire at 8 a.m., found the front deck on fire with flames spreading into the attic space through the bird-blocking and into the living space.
All six people, including an infant, were able to get out safely, though several pets are unaccounted for.
Because the fire was in the attic space, it was able to spread to other portions of the single-story house. It took one hour to fully extinguish the fire.
It is unknown whether there were working smoke alarms in the home.
