Kent’s Volken Academy to celebrate 5th anniversary June 8

A five-year anniversary party for the John Volken Academy in Kent will run from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the residential addiction treatment center, 921 Central Ave. N.

The Kent Chamber of Commerce will host the event that includes a tour of the facility. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP at kentchamber.com or call the chamber at 253-854-1770.

The three-story, 17,435-square-foot building serves as transitional housing and offices in conjunction with the PriceCo furniture retail store. The nonprofit, Canadian-based John Volken Foundation operates the store and treatment center.
