Kent Police honored Sgt. Joe Gagner on Monday at City Hall. Gagner is retiring after 33 years with the department.

Gagner started with the force in November 1984 and his final day is Wednesday, Jan. 31. He helped form the Valley Civil Disturbance Unit nearly 19 years ago that also includes the Renton, Tukwila, Auburn, Federal Way and Port of Seattle police departments.
