Two days before Dick’s Drive-In opens a new location in Kent, the King County Council recognized the restaurant for its nearly 65 years of community service, philanthropy, civic engagement and more.

King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, of Federal Way, presented the honor to Ron Schmeer of Dick’s on Monday at the King County Courthouse, according to a county press release. The council said it looks forward to Dick’s bringing their commitment to integrity, resourcefulness, and professionalism to South King County.

Dick’s will have a grand opening at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, just south of Lowe’s, at 24220 Pacific Highway S., on the West Hill.
