Kent-Meridian lightweight Jasper Ayers finished second and heavyweight Dilan Sosa-Zuniga took third at the Doc Herren Wrestling Invitational at Auburn High School last Saturday.

At 113 pounds, Ayers (20-7) posted a 2-0 decision over Enumclaw’s Tyson Russell in the semifinals before falling by pin at 3 minutes, 21 seconds to Orting’s Demani Thomas for the championship. At 285 pounds, the Royals’ Sosa-Zuniga (24-4) pinned Hazen’s Jayden Hewitt in one minute to earn the bronze. Orting won the team title with 251.5 points. Kent-Meridian was 10th with 96 points.
