Kentlake, Kentwood boys, Kentridge girls to play in MLK Showcase, Eric Anderson Classic

Some of the state’s top high school boys and girls basketball teams will collide at the King Showcase presented by Icelandic Glacial and Eric Anderson Classic on Monday, Jan. 21 at Kent’s accesso ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St.

The tournament is played in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., the civil rights leader. It also honors Anderson, Kentridge High School’s longtime athletic director, teacher and coach, who died last year.

The Kentlake boys take on Kittitas and its star guard, Brock Ravet of Kittitas, who has committed to Gonzaga. Tipoff is 3:30 p.m.

Kentwood plays Davis at 10:30 a.m.

In girls matchups, top-ranked Kentridge will play Woodinville at 5 p.m. in a rematch of their 4A state quarterfinal game last season. The Falcons shocked the defending state champion Chargers 55-54 with a 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime.

General admission is $10, seniors and students are $5.
