State Rep. Debra Entenman, D-Kent, is bringing her passion for community and technical education to the state Legislature and has been appointed to serve as vice chair of the College & Workforce Development Committee.
Entenman started her college career after her own children were old enough to enter college. As a non-traditional student at Highline College in Des Moines and Seattle University, she learned the value of programs accessible to people interested in higher education later in life.
“I’m excited to take on this new role for my constituents in South King County,” Entenman said in a House Democrats news release. “My priorities are expanding educational pathways to improve access to our community and technical colleges, providing fair pay for our community college teachers and improving opportunities for families who feel left behind. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.”
Entenman also serves on the Housing, Community Development & Veterans Committee and the Transportation Committee. She represents the 47th District, which includes part of part of Kent, Covington and Auburn.
