Kent man found dead in field at former Auburn Valley 6 Drive-In

Auburn Police found a dead man with a single gunshot wound to his head Sunday morning at the site of the former Valley 6 Drive-In Theaters, at the northern edge of the city off of South 277th Street.

The call to police came in at about 9 o’clock that morning.

Police Cmdr. Steve Stocker said detectives have classified the case as a homicide.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office was still working to identify the man, although investigators at the scene were able to determine that he was a 31-year-old Kent resident.

As this is an active investigation, Stocker said, detectives at the moment are being “pretty tight-lipped about it.”
