Kentwood High School’s Emma Pollak and Faith Marshall, who compete for Xtreme Speed Track Club of Kent, have earned All-American honors in the hurdles.

Athletes who place in the top eight are considered All-Americans.

Pollak, a junior-to-be at Kentwood, finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (ages 15-16) division final with a personal-best time of 1 minute, 2.59 seconds at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in Sacramento, Calif., July 22-28.

Faith finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in the young women’s (ages 17-18) division final with a time of 14.75. She ran a personal-best 14.44 in the semifinals.

Pollak also earned All-American honors in the 4-by-100-meter relay, finishing eighth in the girls (ages 15-16) division final with a time of 48.57. The team consisted of Alaynah Reed of Kentwood, Danielle Hunter of Clover Park, Rylee Panquerne of Puyallup, and Pollak, the anchor. The team also ran a season-best 48.29 in the preliminaries.

The foursome of Reed, Johanna Brown of Enumclaw, Panquerne and Pollak finished 10th in the 4-by-400-meter relay.

Other local All-Americans:

• Alaina Brady of the Tahoma Track Club captured the heptathlon, was third in the long jump (5.61 meters) and fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles (14.04) in the women’s 17-18 division.

• Adaji Osaro-Igwe of Tahoma Track Club took fourth in the 100 Meter Dash (12.02) and was eighth in the 200 dash (29.68) in the girls 15-16 division.

• Renton’s Faith Richardson, representing the Tahoma Track Club, and Devon Brown shone. Richardson finished third in the 100 with a personal-best 12.03 in the women’s 17-18 division. Brown, of the Seattle Speed Track Club, won the 100 gold in the men’s 17-18 division with a time of 10.65.
