Pedestrian hit, killed by truck on State Route 516 near Military Road in Kent

A driver of a Ford Ranger truck hit and killed a pedestrian on State Route 516 near Military Road in Kent early Thursday morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The vehicle, driven by a 60-year-old SeaTac man, was travelling eastbound on SR 516 when it hit the pedestrian, a 29-year-old man from Kent, who died at the scene, State Patrol reported. The collision occurred around 3:42 a.m.

The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of kin. The driver was not hurt.

It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the collision, State Patrol reported.

Eastbound lanes were closed for approximately three hours.

The collision is under investigation.
