Firefighters responded to a shed fire at about 11:39 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10 in the 400 block of Novak Lane in Kent.

It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the fire that extended into the brush around the shed, according to an Aug. 11 email from Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak.

About six homeless individuals were in the area of the fire, but no injuries were reported, Pawlak said. There are several abandoned houses in the area that had homeless in them. Only one structure was involved in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Pawlak said.
