Man, 44, dies in Federal Way shooting at apartment complex

A 44-year-old man died after being shot on the afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 18 in Federal Way.

At about 3:30 p.m. at Celebration Park Apartments, 32205 11th Place S., officers responded to a shooting and located a deceased man with a single gunshot wound, according to Federal Way Police Department Cmdr. Kyle Buchanan. Despite first aid by officers and medics, the man died.

“The incident is believed to have started after subjects known to each other engaged in a fight,” Buchanan said. “The suspect is outstanding at this time and we do not believe there is a danger to the public.”

Buchanan said that detectives responded, are processing the scene and interviewing witnesses.
